Accreditation & Recognition
Although we have been teaching English for 25 years, experience is not necessarily a guarantee of quality.
The Bournemouth School of English is therefore proud to be accredited by Accreditation UK, the quality assurance scheme for English language providers in the UK. Accreditation UK is managed by the British Council in partnership with English UK. The school is also a member of English UK and The Association of British Language Schools.
Aside from these academic associations, the school is also a member of The Federation of Small Businesses and is listed on the UKBA's Register of Sponsors.
Accreditation UK & The British Council
Accreditation UK, run by the British Council and English UK, is the quality assurance scheme for the UK ELT sector.
Our school is regularly inspected to check that we meet agreed high standards of quality; the fact that we do allows us to carry the British Council accreditation logo that you will see on every page of this website.
During an inspection, all aspects of the school are thoroughly investigated, including our teachers, homestay accommodation, school facilities, and administration. By choosing to study with us, you can be confident that you will receive a high standard of education and care.
UKBA Register of Sponsors
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) is responsible for securing the United Kingdom borders and controlling migration in the United Kingdom. They manage border control for the United Kingdom, enforcing immigration and customs regulations. They also consider applications for permission to enter or stay in the United Kingdom, citizenship and asylum.
If you need a visa to study in the UK, it is important to know that your school is listed on the UKBA's Register of Sponsors. We have linked directly to the Register of Sponsors from this website so that you can be sure of our place on that list and, therefore, of our ability to successfully provide you with the sponsorship needed to enter and study in the UK.
English UK
English UK is the world’s leading language teaching association with more than 400 members – all accredited by the British Council – including private language schools, educational trusts and charities and language centres in further education colleges and universities.
The Association of British Language Schools
The Association of British Language Schools was founded in 1993 by a group of English language providers interested in developing a quality marque which could offer choice and recognise diversity in English language provision. The Association has maintained the specific aim of promoting quality, professionalism and expertise in the field of English language tuition. All member schools must be accredited by a Home Office recognised accreditation body.
