Terms & Conditions

You are strongly advised to take out appropriate insurance for your stay in the UK. We suggest insurance that will cover course cancellation, as well as health problems, accidental loss and/or damage to property. The School does not recommend any specific insurance company.

You are allowed 2 weeks of holiday for every 12 weeks at school; holiday must be booked with the School’s directors a minimum of one week in advance. No refunds or extensions will be allowed for periods of unarranged holiday.

You should inform your Homestay Host of your intended arrival time at least 48 hours before you arrive. This will ensure that there is someone at home to welcome you when you arrive.

Neither the School nor its representatives are liable for loss of tuition or other services due to public disturbance, industrial action or factors outside our control. Refunds cannot be made under any of these circumstances. The School does not accept liability in case of illness, accident, loss or damage to personal effects or property. Any damage to the School or Homestay property, whether intentional or not, must be paid for in full.

The School reserves the right to refuse an enrolment, to change the price or course details without prior notice and to refuse lessons or accommodation where fees have not been paid in full.

The School’s directors reserve the right to exercise their own discretion in all matters; their decision is final.

Payment Details
Confirmation of a course booking will only be provided on receipt of the Registration Fee. All fees must be paid prior to the commencement of a course. There are no reductions, discounts, or refunds for courses that include a public holiday; dates are available on our website.

Cancellation & Changes
If you decide to cancel your course for any reason, you must inform the School as soon as possible. The School will not refund the Registration Fee.

If you cancel less than 14 days before the start of the course, a further cancellation fee equivalent to one week’s course and accommodation (if booked with the School) will be charged. Any remaining balance will be returned to you but the School will not be liable for any bank charges during the refund process.

If you cancel due to a visa refusal, a copy of the letter from the British Embassy or Consulate must be received by the School. Such cancellations will not be accepted without a confirmation letter and the School will be required to inform the UK Border Agency of your non-attendance.

If you cancel after your course has started, or decide to finish your course early, no refund will be given for tuition fees. You will be offered the chance to complete your course at a mutually convenient time within the next 12 months. Accommodation fees will be refunded after a cancellation fee equivalent to two full weeks’ notice has been deducted.

The School reserves the right to cancel a student’s enrolment, with no refunds, in the event of misconduct or unsatisfactory behaviour. The directors’ decision is final.

We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover any eventuality including cancellation.

Attendance
If you cannot come to school, for whatever reason, please inform us as soon as possible. We regret that we are, however, not able to refund any payments.

Students who need a visa to study in the UK will be reported to the UK Border Agency if they are absent for 10 consecutive school days. This is a failure to comply with the requirements of your visa and will result in a withdrawal of your right to remain in the UK.

Proof of Identity & Address
It is a requirement of enrolment that you are responsible for providing the School with accurate and full contact details (address, telephone number, and email address) both for yourself in the UK and in your own country and for your next of kin in your own country; it is also your responsibility to inform us immediately if there are any changes in these details.

In addition, in order to fulfil our obligations to you and the British authorities, it is necessary for us to see and copy your passport / proof of identity and visa if you need one to study.

Complaints
Should you have a complaint, please speak to either Emma or Mark, who will do their best to resolve any problem as quickly as possible.

If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you are able to address it to The Association of British Language Schools (ABLS) of which we are a member. Someone from this organisation will then attempt to work with you to resolve the issue.
